Riding Arenas
Adding a riding arena to your farm doesn't need to be a difficult project. In fact, larger pole barns are ideal as riding arenas. Installation for a pole barn kit is quick and easy. Pole barns have a free-span roof which creates an open riding area. The construction also results in no protruding edges inside. The painted galvalume metal roof for most kits is helpful in winter, as snow slides off easily. The structure, additionally, doesn't need a standard continuous foundation.
Before you add a riding arena to your farm, decide the use of it first. Many farms simply have one as an exercise area for horses. Other times, riding arenas are training spaces for the animals, and more space is needed in this case. Horses often practice jumping inside riding arenas, and if you plan to use your space for this, make sure the walls are at least 16' tall.
When looking for a pole barn as a standard riding arena, make sure that the structure is at least 14 feet high. A taller roof will be needed if you plan to use the space for jumping practice. The pole barn also needs specific features to be used as a riding arena. The doors, for example, should be able to fit all equipment and horses. Consider your options for natural light, as well. Skylights, in this case, are a popular option, but so are traditional windows.
DIY Pole Barns creates several structures that can be used as riding arenas. All pole building kits are made from premium-grade lumber, code-compliant wood trusses, and painted galvalume metal roofing and siding. Concrete footers and fasteners are added for a complete material package. Buildings range in size up to 40 by 120 by 14 feet and beyond, and additional features, such as doors, windows, and cupolas can be included in the design of the structure.
